Seasonal greetings

Setsubun refers to the day before the beginning of each season such as the first days of spring, summer, fall, and winter.
It is believed that “Oni (a devil-like creature from Japanese folklore) comes when the seasons change in Japan.
There are many rituals and customs to exorcise these Oni.

One of them is eating Ehomaki, a sushi roll, facing to the year’s good luck direction.
The year’s good luck direction is changed every year.
This year is the west-south-west.
You have to eat quietly while making a wish when eating.
Ehomaki should not be cut.
This represents not cutting any good bonds in the future.
If you have a chance to enjoy Ehomaki, you should try it!
